The Electronic Commerce Bill currently making its way through Parliament is destined soon to become law. It is going to change the way private sector organizations and government departments do business on the Internet and in the office. The law mandates the protection of personal information kept by private sector organizations, no matter what form it is kept in. It will cover all aspects of the gathering and handling of personal information, not just of your clients and customers, but personnel within your organization.
Whatever the activity of your organization in dealing with personal information, you need to know what this law means to you. Federal organizations and Crown corporations not previously covered by the public sector Privacy Act will now be subject to the protection of personal information rules.
This seminar will bring together over twenty expert speakers, from the public and private sector to discuss the importance of this new legislation. They will shed understanding on its meaning and what organizations need to know to comply.
